What to expect

The site is maintained by one person alongside other work. Replies usually take a few business days and occasionally longer. Reports of wrong output get answered before feature requests.

Reporting a wrong result

Team splits are random by design, so "I got a different result than last time" is expected behaviour. What is not expected, and worth reporting, is any of these:

• A person appearing on two teams, or disappearing from the output entirely.
• Team sizes differing by more than one (for example 6 and 3 from 9 people into 2 teams).
• Anyone drawing their own name in the Secret Santa generator.
• Balanced mode producing a wider skill gap than pure random on the same roster and settings.
• A share link that opens with the wrong roster, mode or method.

Please include the page you were on, the roster you used (or a same-shaped stand-in — you do not need to send real names), the mode and method selected, and your browser. A share link reproduces the input exactly if the names are not sensitive.

Feature requests

Two requests come up often, and both are declined on purpose: exclusion rules ("these two must not be on the same team") and saved rosters behind an account. Exclusions need a different algorithm and a half-working version would silently break the guarantees the site is built on; accounts would mean storing your name lists on a server, which is exactly what this tool avoids. Requests that fit in-browser and stateless — new presets, extra split formats, export formats — are welcome.
